Ok, I have an announcement of sorts to make. In an effort to spend more time with Jenzen, I've decided to make a pretty set schedule for shooting sessions. In 2012, I am going to be shooting up to two sessions a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays at 3:30PM, plus weddings. I hope to do fewer weddings this coming year...somewhere in the ballpark of 15 (I already have 7 on the books). I may decide to take more, depending on how many I have in a particular month.

The MWF thing is so that I can have Jenzen in daycare 3 days a week instead of 5. When I chose this profession, full-time daycare was never a part of my plan, and let's face it: at the end of the week, Jenzen and I miss each other BAD!!! I want to make sure I take much more time with her. I've been so busy that full-time daycare is the only option right now for me to stay anywhere near caught up. While I really LOVE our daycare, I want to have her during the day too. The 3:30 thing is so that I can reduce how often my mom has to pick Jenzen up from daycare after she gets done working her everyday job. If I shoot at 3:30 and have a 45 minute session, I will be finished and back to Burk in time to pick Jenzen up from daycare myself. My mom is just really tired at the end of the day, and I want to ease her workload a bit! She's already paid her dues...she should get to be a grandma instead of a nanny.

I know this sounds restrictive, and I know it kind of is...but I also hope that you understand where I'm coming from. I love, LOVE this job, but I love my daughter more than anything and really want to have my arms wrapped around her more often. I want to take her to the zoo and to the aquarium and to the park to feed the ducks and swing. She won't be little for long!
