All About Dev

  • Hey, I'm Devon. I'm an artist-turned-photographer, and I graduated from MSU in 2005 with a degree in Fine Arts. That all sounds a little too serious for my taste though; although I put my art background into my pictures through color and composition, I am more concerned with getting YOU and your personality across! If you're silly (like me), then laugh! If you're in love, then kiss! If you're happy, then dance! A picture should be a reflection of someone, and that's what I try to capture. I hope you enjoy this crazy little blog. If you have any questions or need information about my pictures, please leave a comment, email me at devonjimagery@yahoo.com, or call me at 940.636.0054...I can't wait to hear from you!

  • Winter Wedding Wonderland

It's hard to believe that just a few days ago on Monday at Kim & Russell's wedding, it was about 60 degrees outside.  Warm enough to go outside for pictures, stay there for a little while, and not need a jacket to do it.  What a difference 3 days can make!  Here it is, Christmas Eve, and we're completely covered in snow!  Kim & Russell's beautiful wedding and reception took place at the Kemp Center for the Arts in Wichita Falls, and my photog/college friend Meegan Weaver was my second shooter.  I really enjoyed having her with me, and I think she liked the lower pressure job of second shooting!!  It's always fun to just let go and take some fun pictures from different angles than you're used to.  It was a sweet, intimate ceremony with only the closest of family and friends to share in the joy of the day.  It was almost like an early Christmas present to have everyone together!  Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs.!!

Yes, I carry three cameras at once.  Crazy???  Maybe.  Whatevs, it works for me!

    Elliott 24.jpg

Meegan did a shot like the one above and showed it to me on her camera, and with my fisheye lens, I was able to get lots in the shot.  Good idea, Meegs!!  LOVE how you can see what's going on inside and outside the ceremony...lots of anticipation!

  • Something Blue

Kim and Russell got married last night (yes, on a Monday) at Kemp Center for the Arts in WF.  They had a beautiful, intimate ceremony and reception, and you'll see pictures from that soon.  But for now, drumroll please, you're gonna get to see some of my favorites from Kim's bridal portrait session that we shot LAST MONDAY!  Yep, I'm quick :)  Oh...and let me just tell you...Kim knows how to rock out her "something blue."  Her shoes were amazeballs.  It's ALL about the shoes with me, you know.

  • Merry Christmas From The Fa-mi-ly

I've never taken Jamy for the farm-girl type, so I didn't expect for her sister to be either.  Boy, was I thrown for a loop when I showed up at the farm, and later left with cow poop all over my shoes!  Almost everybody had on their boots and jeans, but when I saw Jamy in her leggings and boots (not of the cowboy variety), I felt right at home...we were wearing practically the same thing!  Jamy, your family is precious, and I had a GREAT time hanging out with yall and the cows.

Besides the fact that a picture of grandparents with their grandkiddos is super sweet, I love this next pic because of the brown cow who is crashing the picture between the silos.  I guess he wanted his time to shine, too.

  • Future Miss America

I've been looking forward to taking Tanner's pics for a long time...I just KNEW she would totally work it out!  She didn't disappoint.  This sweet little one is absolutely fabulous.  I've never seen another kid with such awesome outfits!  Her parents and her GiGi take good care of her :)

The thing about Tanner that is so hilarious and great is that I didn't tell her any of her poses...she just knows how to be precious and completely heart-melting with every little move she makes.

  • Sister Surprise

What a great idea Alyssa and Kalynn had for their parents for Christmas...pictures, of course!!  I wish more older siblings would think to do this for their parents.  It seems as though family pictures sort of end when kids get into high school.  It's rare that I have families who have older kids that want family photos taken.  What a treat!  I hope they enjoy their surprise!!
